I hope this doesn't turn into a Schiavo case, but the medical professionals involved are really between a rock and a hard place.

Care to explain the double standard? The judge and psychiatrist are merely using observation and reason - how do you know the parents aren't correct here, getting information from god?

Everyone is entitled to their beliefs. No one is entitled to impose their beliefs on someone else.

(49,533 posts)then their beliefs are quite central to this issue. But even if they don't, to remove life support is telling them that their beliefs are wrong. As I noted, cbayer has scolded others for engaging in that exact behavior. But now she does it, and it's OK.
What if they're right? What if she will go to hell if they remove life support?
