Rick Warren cancels presidential forum; mixed explanations as to why

http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/08/23/rick-warren-cancels-presidential-forum-mixed-explanations-as-to-why/?hpt=hp_t2

By Dan Gilgoff and Eric Marrapodi, CNN Belief Blog Co-Editors

(CNN) - High-profile pastor Rick Warren has called off plans for a presidential forum that he said was scheduled to include both major party candidates, but there are conflicting accounts about why the event was canceled.

Warren told the Orange County Register that he was nixing his "civil forum" because of the toxic political climate.

"It would be hypocritical to pretend civility for one evening only to have the name-calling return the next day," Warren told the newspaper in an article published Wednesday.

But sources close to President Barack Obama's and Mitt Romney's political campaigns challenged that explanation, saying the event was canceled because of a lack of interest from the respective campaigns.

she tells you if you are a winter, spring, summer or fall, and then you wear the appropriate clothes for your color type. Yes, it's ridiculous. (no offense to any DU color analysts.

instead of pink. Bold colors, no yellow. Actually, I look good in white...been indulging in a guilty pleasure and getting teary-eyed over "Say Yes to the Dress" this afternoon. Eye candy.

This made me very sad, but I now wear all the red I want.

I just looked up that show and would probably enjoy it, but, alas, no cable TV.

I confess I wear pink on occasion, too. Maturity is so liberating! We did without TV for years, but now I am addicted. Looking forward to watching the conventions on it, too. C-SPAN is my favorite because it is delivered without commentary, but I'm going to miss it Tuesday night! We're going to The Colbert show!

I did get to see a lot of Olympics, which was great.

Going to the Colbert Show!! And during the Republican convention! I am so jealous.

If the internet is working well enough, I will try to watch it on Hulu and look for a lady in red.

He is way to self important for my sensibilities.
He probably wants to preach some sort of favoritism so not doing the "forum" lets his speak more "freely." Only a guess.

away from, if they have any sense at all.

Obama made a bad mistake when he invited him to speak at the inauguration and one from which he has still not recovered.
