See, here's an example of "hard" religion versus "soft" religion..

Saying I have faith, I believe in science, there is something out there, etc., etc., etc., is light or "soft" religion. The kind that religous DU'ers usually follow and post in their discussions.

Then there is the what I call "hard" religion--

Like this guy-

The ones where even soft religous folks dismiss and treat as the fringe...

To me, it's all mythology so I don't get why the two groups really are treated differently

...in my family and in the community we were part of. Their thinking is so rigid that it squeaks when it walks, and they are impossible to reason with. That DUer-- whom I presume will not post for much longer-- epitomizes the rigid and willful ignorance of the religiously insane. No amount of evidence to the contrary will sway their "faith," which in fact is a euphemism for blind ignorance.

I had to stop myself from playing. I started to reply to that DUer about his/her ridiculous biological assertions, then cancelled the response. Instead, I had a refreshing half hour of beating my head against the wall and made more progress.

If not... well, you know what I think of these things.

No, wait, you don't. What I think is way worse than what you're thinking I think.

Nope, still worse.
