Egypt:'Christian Brotherhood' Announces Registration Within Days

The Christian Brotherhood will announce its registration officially within days in a massive rally, Michel Fahmi, founder of the brotherhood, stated.

"The Christian Brotherhood is not religious advocacy group that aims at proselytizing; it is a group that aims at raising awareness of democracy and citizenship among people," Fahmi said.

"The group will be subject to the state laws of NGOs and civil society associations," he explained. Once the organizational structure is complete, the group will present its papers officially to the bodies concerned, Fahmi added.

"The brotherhood has nothing to do with the church at all because it is not a religious group; it is a group for awareness," Fahmi emphasized.
