Gay marriage advocates, atheists and the military have knocked a question on the carbon tax out of top spot in popular polling for this weekends Google+ hangout with Prime Minister Julia Gillard.
With voting due to close at 5pm today, a surge of votes in the past day has shifted the mix of issues up for debate directly with Ms Gillard in the live video chatroom at 11am on Saturday.
Shane Bazzi, 25, of Sydney shot to the top of the poll late yesterday afternoon, asking how the Prime Minister can explain her opposition to gay marriage given she has no religious reason to object to it - as an atheist - and leads a party that describes itself as socially progressive.
The policy affects me because Im gay, so its a really personal question that I would like answered, he said last night.
