Thanks PZ for pointing this out. I hadn't even heard of this group of formerly Muslim atheists. Now I want to know more.

In general, avoid joining organizations like the Mafia which you cannot leave safely. Parents, enrolling your children in an organization they can only leave at the peril of their lives is child abuse, period, no more no less.
