Ramped up attack on Pope Francis part of intense move to purge gays from RCC

It was initiated by Archbishop Vigano's letter. He is backed by major RW lay US Catholics.

See many recent posts by William Lindsey at his blog bilgrimage.blogspot.com.

They contain much info about the US Catholic right's machinations.

People who just seem to live to cause problems for others for being gay, while being gay themselves.

Cardinal Spellman strikes a pose during his reign of terror in the 1950s.

"If anything goes wrong, blame the homosexuals. Turn homosexuality into a scourge. Our collections and power will increase, because people will want us to fight the scourge."
--Fundagelical Christianity, over the ages

Pope Francis has taken the position that it's not a scourge. Conservative elements inside the Church see this as threatening their power, as well as Church funding.

It's all about money and power. The difference between 1018CE and now is that in 1018CE women were the cause of all evil, but now we're the source of all evil. We're happy to take the workload off your backs, girls! (groan)

And doubtless the Conservative elements inside the church will further abuse kids, to make "the homosexual problem" even more severe and thus increase their funding while simultaneously giving them the opportunity to abuse even more kids.

But, I've thought that for decades now, and it's still puffing along. Why it hasn't collapsed under its own weight, I don't understand.

Left the church years ago much to my families dismay. None of the doctrine made sense to me, none of it.
