Asshole meets asshole.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott did not put up with an atheist's nasty tweet telling him, a Catholic and paraplegic, that he "will be able to get out of your wheelchair right now and run a marathon" if his God is real.

"Pray as if everything depends on God," Abbott tweeted Tuesday. "Work as if everything depends on you. Let's work together to fix America."

Abbott's tweet came hours before he, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and state Sen. Eddie Lucio, a South Texas Democrat, attended a prayer rally hosted by Franklin Graham on the steps of the Texas Capitol.

Twitter user Halley the Heathen — who describes herself as an atheist in her Twitter bio — fired off a tweet hours later telling Abbott, "if your god is real, then you will be able to get out of your wheelchair right now and run a marathon."
