If Pastafarianism is not recognised as an official religion in this country (Ireland), why not?

http://www.independent.ie/opinion/columnists/ian-odoherty/if-pastafarianism-is-not-recognised-as-an-official-religion-in-this-country-why-not-34663279.html

If it all seems rather absurd and ridiculous, that's the point, although some Pastafarians bristle at the 'ridiculous' tag, arguing that they are making an important point.

...

If Pastafarianism is not recognised as an official religion in this country, why not?

It is, undoubtedly, a man-made idea - but so are all religions and it certainly makes far more sense than the hallucinatory gibberish of Scientology, which insists on claiming religious status even though it is not recognised as such in this country.

The wildly disproportionate bile directed towards the Pastafarian ideal also shows how successful the whole wheeze has proved to be.

Indeed, it seems the folks who get the most upset about Pastafarianism are exactly the ones who should be. Mission accomplished!

In the U.S. it is the Callahan test. Google it.

For Irish law, contact the nearest consulate of the Republic of Ireland.

It's big of you to admit in your comment that FSM is in fact trollery.
