A more powerful statement would be denying Ryan communion at wherever he goes to get it. freshwest Apr 2012 #4

She was responding to the CNN anchor's questions about recent Vatican statements. Paraphrasing a bit of her comment, she said - The Network has a mission to serve the underserved. The sisters have taken a vow of celibacy and chastity from day one. So sexual matters aren't their business. Their role is serving and speaking up for the poor, the disabled and the homeless among us. And they do it in a number of venues, all the way from the streets to the halls of Congress.

Powerful lady and a powerful statement. ~ pinto

Cardinal Ratzinger ordered Kerry be denied during the second Bush election theft. Just recently, another Kennedy was ushered out of a Catholic function, and others have been denied. Because they followed the law of the land that they did not personally agree with, Roe v. Wade.

The Church could be as harsh on those whose follow Ayn Rand, such as Ryan and Boehner, and wear their membership in the Catholic church as a badge of honor while they write a budget to kill the poor.

Protecting both the born as well as the unborn would be more consistent. While the sisters certainly know what this is doing, and always do the right thing no matter what the higher ups may say, a push should be made on the hierarchy to really do something that would stop these men doing what they're doing.

The higher ups should listen to these women. Because a slap on the hand is not sufficient. Ryan and Boehner need to be shunned and humiliated for what they're doing to people who never did them any harm.
