Related: About this forumChris Christie: Using birth control doesn’t make me a bad Catholic
New York Daily News:Chris Christie's got rhythm.
The New Jersey offered a deep glimpse into his personal life Tuesday, telling supporters at a Town Hall meeting in New Hampshire that he and his wife have used contraception before.
"I'm a Catholic but I've used birth control - and not just the rhythm method," Christie said, according to a recording of the speech, suggesting that he doesn't always agree with his religion on the issue.
"My church has a teaching against birth control. Does that make me an awful Catholic," he asked. "Because I believe and practiced that function during part of my life? I don't think so."

(5,614 posts)1. maybe not but spitting on the poor and downtrodden sure does
I wonder who the guy is these people worship. Certainly not the Christ I read about in the Bible.
Too bad Christie's mom didn't have the same opinion about birth control.

(49,533 posts)8. Actually Chris, you don't get to decide that.
Your church does, and according to it, yes you're a bad Catholic. Or at least not one in good standing.

Actually Chris, you don't get to decide that...Your church does.
If you're willing to abide by what your church's decides, sit down and shut up. If you're not, resign. And as long as we've touched on the subject of resigning...
(if you'll pardon the smiley)
