Scarily, this was a news story in the Lenoir News-Topic:
Its something like that, as a bunch of raving atheists are convening in Hickory, chosen as the convention site specifically because of this areas religiosity -- a Gallup poll in 2013 identified the Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton as being among the top 10 most religious metropolitan statistical areas in the United States.
If the unbelievers may be perceived by many locals as frothing at the mouth or speaking in their own version of tongues, the convention promoters contend theyll be uttering utmost sense.
Thus, these infidels call their gathering ReasonCon. Thats as opposed to those who get their facts and truth from the Bible: The events press release also cites a Barna survey assessing the Bible-mindedness of some cities, a measure of how recently a sampling of residents have read the Bible and what credence they accord it. Charlotte came in with the eighth-highest Bible-mindedness; the Piedmont Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point) ranked 20th.

(7,323 posts)Great job getting your point across News Topic and I'd say great journalism as well. My take, from reading the responses is one that what we as Christians are dealing with is a group of misdirected folks that are lost in their souls or in the direction they are talking in life. I am sure that there are many other venues in this town that would have denied your opportunity to do business in our town and have been just fine without your athiest dollars. As a Godly man who lives happily in this Godly community, I say Google a local church, attend on any night of the week and ask God, the maker of heaven and earth, all that is in it, and the creator of all that ever was, all that is, and all that ever will be and ask for forgiveness for your sins and ask Him to come into your soul as your saviour. He will forgive and allow you the opportunity to be in Heaven when our time here on earth comes to an end. He loves you and I love you! Be well!
