Pat Robertson: Gay wedding cakes are the ‘nail in the coffin of the morality of this nation’

Conservative TV preacher Pat Robertson warned this week that the morality of the United States was at stake because Christian wedding cake bakers were not being allowed to discriminate against same-sex couples.

On Thursday’s edition of The 700 Club, a viewer asked Robertson to weigh in on recent news that Christian bakers and florists in several states had been ordered to treat LGBT people equally.

“If you have a strong belief that enabling a same-sex marriage is wrong then you shouldn’t,” the televangelist opined. “There’s no way that a government should force somebody to do that. It is an outrageous invasion of religious liberty, and a trampling of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.”

“It’s just one more nail in the coffin of the morality of this nation.”

Robertson likened it to forcing a bartender to only serve sarsaparilla soft drinks instead of alcohol.

I think we all ought to do that. It would be fun interacting with the shops which refuse, especially in those states with LGBT non-discrimination statutes.

And after all, who doesn't like cake?

And send them to www.cakewrecks.com to be featured as a Sunday Sweet (if they're beautiful) or a wrecktastic joke (if the decorator effs it up.)

Could be fun, nailing down the nation's morality coffin!

interestedly,
Bright

That's what I'm waiting to hear next, anyway. After all, he thinks you have to exorcise your used clothes in case they come from Goodwill with evil spirits attached...
