His remarks wouldnt really be notable, except that Williams was speaking at a menorah lighting ceremony, to mark the beginning of Hanukkah.

I wonder what the reaction would be at a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, if a Jewish politician proclaimed; "Jesus was not the Messiah"?
Or, God-forbid, an atheists politician said "This is all myth and fairy tales."?
