Warrensburg A parent is speaking out now about what she described as anti-religion incidents in late August involving her 10-year-old son on a public school bus.
The first incident involved a conversation on the bus followed later by a parent boarding the bus to deliver an atheistic message to students.
Maria Graves is critical of the district for not telling her and other parents immediately about the second incident, and for showing leniency to the parent who boarded the bus a possible trespassing violation.
School District Superintendent Scott Patrick said Monday the district dealt quickly and appropriately with the man who boarded the bus Aug. 29

To me this is as objectionable as any believer getting on the bus to preach.

(5,018 posts)or in history that any such thing as a god exists.
The truth is that more and more people are realizing how silly the whole concept of religion is.
I am AGAINST anybody getting on any school bus for any reason unless to save them from an accident or something, so while I approve of the message I am not crazy about the delivery.
You cant use a word like truth when you are alleging you believe in something based solely on faith and without any evidence in the history of history, can you.
I can use the word because it applies to what is known to be true and not true.
What is true is there is no evidence, at all, for any such thing.

(146,218 posts)So someone saying that there is no god is not telling the truth, they are only stating their opinion based on beliefs.
The truth is that some people believe and some don't' and neither party holds the truth.
I am not alleging anything and if a believer says they have the truth, I will challenge them just like i challenge you.
Neither of you can claim to have the truth.
You can use the words belief and faith, just like a believer, but you can't use truth unless you have some evidence of it being true.
That's how science works.

What exactly did he say?
(not that anybody should board a school bus and say anything)

(82,333 posts)In a nutshell, at the beginning of the school year a girl on the bus was telling another kid her mother was in a car accident. She said something like, "Thank God she's still alive and the man's ten year old daughter turned around and said something like "There is no god' and some sort of argument ensued. The next morning the girl's father got on the school bus and started talking about atheism (words unknowm). The school district banned him from the bus. The other parents are pissed because they just found out about it.

I suspect that his daughter told him about it and he may have thought she was bullied and got on the bus to explain his daughter's point.
Bad situation. Father reacted wrong.
