God intervenes to give rightwing hate mongerer a clue.

After taking the opportunity of the thanksgiving holiday to hate all over Sasha and Malia Obama for dressing like every other dressed up teenager in America and Europe, Elizabeth Lauten, communications director for congressman Stephen Fincher, (Reprehensible Idiot), was told in no uncertain words by Yahweh, ruler of the universe, to STFU, delete her facebook rant, and apologize.

'Hours of prayer'

In her apology, Ms Lauten wrote: "After many hours of prayer, talking to my parents, and re-reading my words online I can see more clearly just how hurtful my words were.

"I'd like to apologise to all of those who I have hurt and offended with my words, and I pledge to learn and grow (and I assure you I have) from this experience."

Good on Yahweh. I knew the old guy still had a miracle or two left in him. A republican apologizing is one of those physical improbabilities that does, for a second or two, cause me to shift my odds on the existence of gods from 0.00000000001 to 0.0000000001.

What she should've said is, "I am sorry for being a classless bore. The girls were dressed tastefully and the picture chosen out of many caught them between expressions. That too was my choice." And then show a different picture from the same event.

At these "photo ops" hundreds maybe thousands of pics are taken. It is poor taste to use the ones that make the subject look, pick one; stupid, sulky, angry or just plain goofy.

Apparently there is demon on the loose named "Willy" who causes us to do shitty things. Of course that begs the question as the creator of the universe, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent, created willy too and knows everything we will and have done. I guess the bottom line, so to speak, is that Yahweh wanted some shaming of the mini-skirted Obama kids to occur and wanted that hate-fueled butt wad to have to apologize for doing the hating. Agents of god get a raw deal.

Assholes are assholes whether they believe in a god or not.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1218&pid=166437

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

Seriously? Again with the thinly veiled insults and personal attacks? Is this ALL that rug is capable of; petty personal attacks, insults, and disruption? For what? What does this accomplish other than to make DU suck more. Whats most dispicable is the fact that rug doesn't seem to have the courage to come right out and call Warren an "asshole", but uses posts like this to feel clever when a jury allows it. Will you allow it, jury? Is rug really that clever?

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Mon Dec 1, 2014, 11:22 AM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Meh, too clever by half.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Rug does like to stir things up - this is not nice.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Yes, personal attack by addendum.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Yes, rug is clever enough not to directly call Warren Stupidity an asshole just like Warren Stupidity is careful (usually) to stay on the good side of the line when he criticizes others.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I have learned over the years here that you have to develop a thick skin to debate.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

Her deleted post reads: "Dear Sasha and Malia: I get you're both in those awful teen years, but you're a part of the First Family, try showing a little class. At least respect the part you play.

"Then again, your mother and father don't respect their positions very much, or the nation for that matter. So I'm guessing you're coming up a little short in the 'good role model' department."

The post goes on to advise the girls to "rise to the occasion and act like being in the White House matters to you".

"Dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar," she added.

I'm sure she was positively apoplectic over this:

The charity is used as a platform to proselytize. In Africa the catholic charities are among the strongest voices promoting atrocities like the Ugandan "kill the gays" law (I know it was knocked down to life imprisonment). They also push anti-safe sex agendas resulting in AIDS spreading even faster. These evil agendas are the result of the religious beliefs and are tied to the supposed "good works" so I am just going to go with religion poisons everything.

Mon Dec 1, 2014, 11:30 AM
Dec 2014

is just a smokescreen for the realization that everyone thought her an asshole.
Throwing a prayer into the apology gives it a repented, religious twist that helps deflect the criticism.
I don't see religion a plus or minus as far as people acting like assholes, it's neutral at best.

Because of the privileged position religion holds, it is a powerful tool for social manipulation. Wrapping your apology in it gives the extra appearance of sincerity. Though I will say that assholes who think that god approves of their asshole behavior are probably worse than the average asshole.

Calling another poster a liar and unethical is a personal attack, which this person doesn't even bother to justify with a single fact. On top of that, she is continuing a personal attack and carrying over a grudge from other threads. This adds nothing to the discussion and is just nasty.

Since she named them explicitly, she should have the decency to apologize to them directly by name. Actually, she should also apologize to God for bringing him into a childish, stupid act and use him as a crutch.

She was probably told to apologize or be fired. If she apologized, she would be allowed to resign so the firing wouldn't be put on her record.

She's probably already been given another job in the Republican Nasty Network. She should fit in well.
