First Amendment...not so much, apparently

This happened at our UU congregation in New Orleans last Sunday. These folks are the former Operation Rescue of Randall Terry fame.

As I said over at my Faith of the Free Facebook group, while I understand the local congregation's desire to take the high road on this, I think that folks who do this should be sent a strong, unequivocal message that this kind of terroristic intrusion and intimidation cannot be tolerated. The mayor also has some 'splaining to do as well, about extending a proclamation of recognition to this recognized hate group.

in the past and really liked the congregation.

I was particularly sorry to see that Mayor Morial's office had given them some kind of endorsement. I think they were just lazy when this hit his desk.

Glad to see this is getting some press and hope to come back to see your congregation at some time in the future.

mistake peace and tolerance for weakness and passivity that they can try to exploit. Hence the oft-heard refrain "why won't you tolerate my intolerance?"
