Members of the secular community are expecting to see Richard Dawkins, James Randi, PZ Myers, Hemant Metha, Greta Christina, David Silverman, Jessica Ahlquist and many more well-known personalities at the Reason Rally, an event slated to be the largest gathering for the secular community in history, but some other unexpected guests -- in addition to the list of speakers and performers -- from the Westboro Baptist Church will also be in attendance.

Members of the Westboro Baptist Church were invited to the Reason Rally by Jim Klawon, Deputy Vice President of Administration of the National Atheist Party, via a letter sent to Pastor Fred Phelps. After receiving this letter, Megan Phelps-Roper, on Twitter, wrote, “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God” Ps14:1 Here's lookin' at you, @ReasonRally!Your [unwarranted] pride is your destruction. Dear @ReasonRally: How gracious of you! We accept your invitation & will picket your parade of fools 3/24. Love,WBC.” Megan Phelps-Roper comments specifically for this article.

Megan Phelps-Roper says Isaiah 1:18-20

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

is the Westboro Baptist Church's reason for attending the Reason Rally and their special message for atheists. She also sent this message on Twitter following the interview.

They can stick their damn god in a place where the sun don't shine and take the rest of their damn mythology with them.

They are first degree hypocrites!

that there will be tens of thousands at the Reason Rally, and a dozen from WBC. And yet the Media will cover them both equally.

What better contrast can there be, what better representatives of those who support reason, and those who don't?

I hope the media does give both equal coverage, even though the size difference will be substantial. It will be hilarious to watch.

It will be more false equivalency bullshit.

"There were two rallies, one for this, the other for that."

I saw that when i was in an anti-Iraq War rally in D.C. that drew a couple hundred thousand and the Media also covered the hundred or so pro-Iraq War yahoos that showed up.

good game Klawon, you can't book entertainment like that, all you can do is ask nicely and hope they actually show up. AWESOME.

My God, what if they're right? I've never heard this before. Why, I better reconsider my position and...

Hahahahahaha! Sorry, just kidding. Could there ever be a more unconvincing apologist for their point of view than the Phelps clan?
