What was the best in-flight meal to you?

Personally, I like Korean Air's best. Recently it has unveiled its new in-flight meal of dongchimi guksoo (cold noodle soup with radish water kimchi), and yeongyangbap (steamed grains and rice) The meal will be offered from next month to first and prestige class passengers on long-haul flights to the US and Europe.

Korean food due to its unique ingredients and scent, can be used in a limited manner for in-flight meals. But Korean Air is making efforts to develop new menu items to spread the popularity of Korean food throughout the world.

Dongchimi receives the most attention. Korean Air has served just white kimchi (kimchi without red pepper powder) due to the sensitivity of foreign passengers to smell. Since demand is growing to increase the diversity of kimchi on the menu, Korean air chose white kimchi because it is a traditional food that is not eaten daily. Korean air offers bibimbap, samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), ox tail soup, steamed rice with Gondrae herb and crab marinated in soy sauce since 1997. Korean Air has received many awards for best quality in-flight meals since 1998.

If you ever get a chance to fly Korean Air, I recommend that you try some in-flight Korean meals.

I received an alert on this thread regarding the commercial sound of this post. For now I'm leaving it because I think voicing experiences with travel (air food, other aspects of flight) is fine in a travel forum, but if we see continued commercials I may have to change that policy. If anyone else feels strongly about this please pm me. Thanks!

People come here for suggestions of all kinds, must include service by providers.

And op not promoting an airline, but said: If you ever get a chance to fly Korean Air, I recommend that you try some in-flight Korean meals.

I knew I was in for a treat when the chef greeted us at the door along with the rest of the flight crew.

LAX to Istanbul is a long haul and involved three meals. All of them were very good and very Turkish.

I have never traveled Korean Airlines, but I really like the idea of getting the national food of the airline instead of the same old stuff one gets on most US airlines.

I flew Istanbul to Dalaman, and we got a full meal -- wrapped in plastic, but still a full meal with fresh veggies too.

with one meal.

The first was great, the last not so good. But it was to Nairobi and I think that's low on their list of flights they give extra attention.

Anyway, the whole experience was impressive and I would fly them anytime.

Best of all, my Business Class seat was paid for by someone else.

I've flown on just about every airline in the world, but that one dish of lamb curry, experienced about 4 years ago, still stands out. I'd happily pay to dine on it at any restaurant.
