Henry completes Arsenal return..

Thierry Henry has completed his return to Arsenal on loan from MLS side New York Red Bulls and could face Leeds United in the FA Cup on Monday night. Henry, 34, has signed a short-term deal and will return to the USA at the end of February to prepare for the Major League Soccer season.

Henry, who is Arsenal's record goalscorer, left the club for Barcelona in 2007 - where he won the Champions League - before making the move to New York in 2010.
------
After signing the loan deal, Henry said on the club's official website: "It is unreal to be honest. But when it comes to Arsenal my heart will always do the talking. Once I knew the plan behind it I was OK with it. I am not coming here to be a hero or prove anything. I am just coming here to help. People have to understand that.

"Marouane and Gervinho are going to the Africa Cup of Nations, so I was asked to fill in the gap. It is a loan deal and I'll be on the bench most of the time. If I can make the bench that is! The Boss has a team here already who are doing something good. I am just going to be part of the squad.

The Arsenal legend is back. I hope Wenger puts him out there as soon as possible to see what he can do. The Gunners need some scoring from someone other than RVP..

"When I left this Club I cried and I cried for the statue. I haven't cried a lot in my career, but when I do it seems that something is happening with Arsenal"

Seeing him get choked up during that one press conference was so touching. I can't wait to see him welcomed back onto the pitch.

I was watching on FSC, Fox Sports World back then, and Arsenal had been trailing Liverpool 2-1 with their unbeaten streak on the line. I think it was Robert Pires who scored the equalizer, and just seconds later Henry worked his magic to put them ahead for good. It's great having him back. Henry truly loves the club, I hope he ends up at Arsenal in some capacity after his playing days are over..

but I've only been a fan for six years or so now, so I didn't get to experience the exhilaration of seeing it at the time. I can only imagine the absolute joy.

I think he will join the coaching staff in some capacity. I sure hope so anyway.

'Cause he's an old man, see, needs a walker to get around the pitch.

It's less funny with the explanation.

because Henry will be gone by the time Arsenal visit Anfield in early March. Actually, I'm not sure anyone knows exactly what to expect from him. A lot will depend on how often and in what way Wenger uses him. I never watch the Red Bulls, the only MLS I ever check out is the Sounders....Henry was one of the top scorers in the league though. He's still got something left.

He might not be the same force on the pitch but his presence at practice should have a positive effect

At 0-0, this FA Cup match looked like it was heading for a replay, then Wenger brought Henry on in the 68th and he scored the game winner 10 minutes later. Pure storybook.
