do not understand how phenomenal he is.

In a recent discussion here on DU I said something along those lines, and someone responded with, "Well, he doesn't have the stats of (some other QB he named)." True, but that player has a decade or more in the game. Meanwhile, young Mahomes (known in KC lightheartedly as St. Patrick) has done things most players don't do until they've been in the game a decade or so.

I do enjoy watching him play as fan of the game, he really is something special.

But I cannot truly enjoy given my team has to play him 2x a year ... and he's already this good at his age.

With the exception of the Raiders with The Snake in like the 60's, I'll say you guys were definitely way overdue.

But so are we.

Congrats, enjoy your week. I know it's been a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time coming.

The only QBs with a similar resume in their first 2 seasons as starter are Dan Marino and Kurt Warner. His stats are very good at this stage in his career.

Volume stats can be misleading.

First year as starter. 50 touchdown passes, over 5,000 yards. You might want to look up how often either of those have been done. And who else did it in their first year.

I'll give you a hint. Hardly ever been done, and no one else in their first year.

He certainly is great in his first two seasons as a starter is what I was trying to say. He is only one of 3 players with a MVP and a Super Bowl appearance in his first two seasons. The other was Dan Marino & Kurt Warner. I apologize for not being more clear.

His yards per pass thrown is among the best in the NFL.

Against the Broncos. Which he (and the Chiefs) won.

I honestly have no idea what other playing time he got that first year.
