They would hang around for a while, do lots of flying between ponds then leave for the river about 1/4 mile away. Last year I did not see a single one, I hardly had any birds to speak of. All of a sudden this winter I have seen them coming back. Not birds in general, those days are over I fear, but I have seen several bald eagles. My water is still and they prefer the moving river. They fly right past the window I am sitting next to. It is such a joy to see them. I will bookmark this. Thanks!
