I got the broke bike blues.

I recently had inguinal hernia repair and have been off the bike. The surgeon OKed me to ride again but the weather was abysmal. When the weather broke clear I took my first ride and then tragedy struck, not really. I stopped at the mailbox and managed to drop my bike on the left side. I didn't notice anything wrong until the next day. I could shift with the left shifter. Upon inspection there was a crack on the plastic under the hood cover. I don't know if it will work, but I used JB weld epoxy forcing some into the crack and daubing it liberally. I managed to clamp it tight with a combination of zipties and baling twine. We will see.

Saturday I took possession of a lovely Lynskey R240 titanium frame and fork set. My intention was to use the Ultegra 6800 on my Cannondale on the Lynskey and rebuild the Cannondale with 5800 105. All that is on order. This business with the shifter added an unexpected expense. They are proud of these things. I found a left shifter for $150.00 but ended up buying the pair for $200.00.

I can't ride. SAD!
I got a flashy titanium bike in the future, GLAD!

I know that's not really tRump speak too many syllables and he'd never wrap his tiny thumbs around titanium.

He wouldn't make it 10 yards, and the thought of his hair blowing out of the top of a helmet....

I just cleaned up my ancient mountain bike. I don't ride it much because that ain't my thang!. I will take a ride on it tomorrow.

When all the parts come in I'm gonna be a bike wrenching fool- striping one bike and cleaning all the parts to mount on the new bike and then rebuilding the old bike with slightly down graded equipment. That ought to keep me busy and out of trouble. Idle hands and all that stuff.
