A nice article from Mother Jones--It looks like the answer is "Yes", regardless of one's loyalties, with some being bigger assholes than others:

I really wish Mark Cuban would have been allowed to buy them when they were up for sale, not that he's a saint, either. But, they were bought by the WORST of the potential owners Bud Zelig (the biggest asshole of them all) allowed to even get the chance to buy them.

Jeff Loria all but conned the city of Miami into paying for a nice expensive stadium.

He's also just a huge douche.
