Started watching Baseball: the 10th Inning last night...had never seen this...

I'd forgotten how bad that strike in 1994 was...everyone hated baseball at that point. Also, what a shithead Bonds is/was...and all that talent he had and didn't have to be the world's biggest roider...what a waste.

I just bought the whole series...20+ hours of baseball...

I have a pretty good conspiracy theory on the 1994 season...

Ready for this? Get your tinfoil hats on.

1) No way, no how, never ever, was Montreal going to be allowed to kick everyones ass and win the world series that year. I honestly believe this played as huge a part in the decision to cancel the season as anything.

2) No way, no how were they going to allow Tony Gwynn to bat .400. He was on pace..,

Crazy? Maybe. #1 is way more plausible than #2, but I believe these things were, in someway, taken into consideration when Selig cancelled the season.

Also - watch the early ones on Ty Cobb. What a freak of nature this guy was. He was the best all around player to ever play the game... He held the bat with hands separated so he could decide at the last minute if he wanted to bunt or hit the ball...

Think about that for a minute... what absolute control and an amazing eye would you have to have to pull that off?

oh yeah - he beat up a handicapped guy in the stands once too...

He was a total racist asshole but the finest player to ever play the game.

And bonds, yeah, he blew it. Had the world by its ass but had a huge victim complex. Everyone was out to get him, apparently...just another blue blooded 1% who wanted it all.

All in all, I find this documentary one of the finest I have ever watched.

Just never got around to the sequel...The 10th Inning...so after DVD 1 I get to watch 2004 all over again! Unfortunately also on the DVD will be the Yankee's streak under what's-his-name...win some, lose some, I guess.

Yeah, Cobb was amazing...and frightening...I'll have to rewatch the whole thing.
