So Sportsters, what do y'all think of the planned baseball season?

I really haven't clicked around about it, but I shall be listening to a lot of baseball games starting next month. Like an unreformed junkie being released from rehab I just might OD

2 things:
1. DH everywhere?
2. In extra innings a man placed on second? did I hear that right? Shoot, just put your fastest guy out there

1. Rob Manfred (aka baby Buud) doesn't care about the players, the fans or anyone

or anything except making money. As a long time season ticket holder, I have seen all the changes in baseball, to allegedly speed up the game, and make it more exciting just lead to more inconvenience for the fans and more resentment and frustration.

I think baby Buud is just trying to sneak in the rule changes to make baseball more exciting and is using the coronavirus as an excuse to do so.

3. Even with just sixty games I don't think the season will be completed with this...

virus still around, and then the post-season too.

As far as using the pandemic to sneak in rules changes, the game could certainly use some, but they never come up with anything that really speeds up the games or makes the game more exciting.

4. SF Giants', Pablo Sandoval and Hunter Pence are going to LOVE this novelty DH stuff

Both players go a taste of it in the American league so they are chomping their bits to get going. I think they will be flipping a coin to decide who gets to hit, "To Hell with what the manager thinks".

The anal side of me wanted 81 games, exactly half of the regular season. Baseball is a game of attrition and a marathon run, so I'd hoped they would have scheduled a boatload of doubleheaders to fit in the additional games.

5. I love baseball, but I'm not pumped at all for this.

I think they should cancel it.

Too many teams over a large continent. Just a few teams getting a few infections and the whole system will go bust.

No fans in a crowd really kills a lot of entertainment, look how lame the late night talk shows have become without an audience to work off of, and besides, many of the players will pass C-19 to each other the longer this goes on.

Folks, it's a lost year, time to face that fact.

2. Yes, there's gonna be a skinny 19 year old on every team just for the 10th inning.
