U.S. women's national soccer team co-captain Megan Rapinoe likely won't be visiting the White House anytime soon but that doesn't mean she won't be in Washington.
On Friday evening, after Rapinoe scored two goals and led her team to victory over France in the 2019 Women's World Cup quarterfinals, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., tweeted an invitation for the soccer star to visit the U.S. House of Representatives.
"It may not be the White House, but wed be happy to welcome @mPinoe & the entire #USWMNT for a tour of the House of Representatives anytime theyd like," Ocasio-Cortez said.
Two hours later, Rapinoe replied to the tweet, accepting the invitation.
"Consider it done @AOC," Rapinoe wrote.
