It's the power hitters that get most of the glory, but Ichiro was great all-around for a long time, in different leagues, in different countries.

Just wow!!! Powerful and accurate
Seven times he had 8 or more outfield assists!
They're likely guys that went 5 years to get 8 OF assists.
Why people continued to run on him is a mystery.
He averaged around 8 per season, but 10 in his first 7 years in MLB.
80% of the guys on the list with more assists played before 1950, and around 2/3rds of them played in the dead ball era.
And he did not play 9 prime outfield years in Japan.
Incredible

Ichiro could have overtaken Pete Rose as the all-time hits leader. Suzuki holds the combined record but Rose's mark will be considered more prestigious by most fans.

...had 200 hit a year for 10 straight years! Rod Carew did 8, and NOBODY (including caveman Rose) did more than 3
He hits 180 a year for 8 years and he's got 4800 hits.
Nobody else, even close

Woke up at 5:30. Made coffee. Turned on the game. Extra innings now.

speculated that many fans in the Tokyo Dome were doing the same thing. Ichiro's ceremony is going to be huge.
