The winner of the Vikings-Saints game?

Vegas baby!! If Minnesota would have kicked the easy extra point, they would have covered the spread and Vegas would have lost millions. I wonder what was being said in their ear while waiting to run the last play?

I've seen that before but it looked odd to me.

to be attempted. They also brought up how it happened once with Pats and their kicker Vineteri. The kicker had to kick a meaningless point after the game ended and because there was no defense, he walked in for 2 point conversion saying after game he always wanted to do that.

For meaningless tries. Even in regular season where points could be a tie breaker. The rules committee needs to change the rule. If anything why risk getting your kicker or quarterback hurt. In a chippy game you could get someone hurt or suspended. It is also anticlimactic and really not even good football.

since Points Scored and Points Allowed could theoretically wind up being a tiebreaker for getting into the playoffs. But in a playoff game it doesn't matter at all.

And totally agree that in a playoff game, it is totally meaningless.

That said, i think an awful lot of coaches would not consider the 1 point as a tiebreaker deal breaker (that looks weirder in print than it seemed in my head.) I think a lot of them would just take the knee to avoid anybody getting hurt.
