Official asks Texas Rangers to help find lost Brady jersey

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is asking the state’s top law enforcement officers to help locate Tom Brady’s missing game jersey, which disappeared from the New England Patriots’ locker room after the Super Bowl.

The Republican said in a statement Monday that Brady’s jersey “was stolen” after the Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 at Houston’s NRG Stadium, and that city police were already investigating.

Patrick said Texas places “a very high value on hospitality and football,” adding: “It is important that history does not record” that Brady’s jersey was stolen in the state.

He continued: “Whoever took this jersey should turn it in” since the “Texas Rangers are on the trail.”

If the officials had been Ann Richards and Bob Bullock no one would be complaining from our side. You have to admit that the theft of this jersey is a smear on the state.

I do wonder at the lapse of security that allowed it to happen. Could it be that someone on the security team saw an opportunity to make big bucks and stole the jersey?

I really don't follow or care about most professional sports - NFL in particular, but I hope this person is caught, prosecuted and the jersey returned to "what his name" with the over inflated ego and under inflated balls.

I could understand contracting a private detective agency like Pinkerton, etc. for a private theft. Texas Rangers should be enlisted when there is a public crime involving the public and/or the government. The (private) stadium, the managers of Patriots, Tom Brady were responsible for the gear, not Texas.

Texas would be motivated to prove it wasn't revenge.

Have the company who made the jersey make A LOT MORE of them so you can't tell Brady's l from the copies .. I mean the real company, not the Chinese knockoffs they sell the fans...
Smear some Brady DNA on it for proof and BOOM...
Like devaluating currency with counterfeit money...
"hey, buddy.. want to buy Brady's jersey from the superbowl? $20 and it's yours"

Just have Brady say "One of our equipment guys found it in one of the bags of laundry. Someone thought there were helping out by tossing it in there."

Now, who ever has the Jersey will have one heck of a time proving that what they have is the real, game worn SB jersey.

If they just want to keep it, it does nothing, but if they try to sell it, nobody is going to believe them and the jersey will be worth what one could buy them for on NFLStore

And when they find the culprit, Rougned Odor will punch him in the face!
