Osweiler returns to lead Texans over Oakland 27-14

The Raiders haven't looked good since Derek Carr was knocked out for the Season, but don't worry, The Raiders WILL BE BACK...NEXT YEAR. BET ON IT.

Jadeveon Clowney takes over as Texans finally start clicking in wild-card win

Connor Cook’s first pass attempt as a starting quarterback for the Raiders—which also happened to be his first pass attempt in an NFL playoff game—was supposed to be a quick, relatively safe toss to his left. Something to let him get his feet wet, while also pushing the Raiders away from the shadow of their own goal line.

Jadeveon Clowney tipped it away.

On Oakland’s next possession, the Raiders tried again to protect their rookie quarterback, this time with a conservative call on third-and-12. Cook rolled right, then threw back to his left on a screen pass to Latavius Murray.

Clowney intercepted it.

Of course Cook deserves blame for the pick, but not many defenders make the play Clowney did. Any lineman who might have read the screen and got his hands up to tip the pass would have struggled to complete the tumbling interception. Clowney didn’t just catch it—he tried to break free and run it back.

It's a very easy play to defend if the defense reads it which you might set up a team with 1 or 2 (unless they're poor tackling team which Houston especially isn't). I'd blame the play call for the interception which in the case of a screen pass there is only one direction he can throw he can't help that Clowney got in the passing line and quarterbacks far more experienced get balls batted down by Dlinemen that put their hands up in the passing lane. A 3rd down screen pass is basically forfeiting chances of winning. Addressing my comments to the author of the article. A lot of times you can blame the play call for an interception rather than the QB. I could blame Cook for a lot of other plays in that game but not really for that one. Clowney seemed to have intentionally floated the tip pass so he could make a play on it.
