Lost in the madness of Sundays loss in New England was yet another controversial play by Vontaze Burfict.
The embattled Bengals linebacker is already drawing criticism for his low hit on Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett, though only a fine and no suspension is the expected outcome in that regard. Marvin Lewis seemed unconcerned during his press conference regarding Burficts actions on the play and even alluded to
Now, it looks like the NFL will have another play to review from Sundays game that actually looks worse on Burficts part. It came in the fourth quarter on a game-clinching touchdown by LeGarrette Blount.
After the score, Burfict appears to stomp on the leg of Blount, who took exception to the play.

(29,322 posts)He played competitive football going back to a high school power in Corona, California and starting as a freshman for Arizona State I think it would be head injuries more than steroids due to aggression but players tend to play dirty when things aren't going their way so its amplified with Burfict because of his history picking up personal fouls all the time.

Not having the name "Suh" means he will get a slap on the wrist.
Burfect might be the dirtiest player in the game.

mythology
(9,527 posts)He was voted dirtiest player in the league multiple times and is an admitted PED user. Or Brandon Meriweather who was a notorious head-hunter during his time with the Patriots.
Or what about the intentional hit Danny Amendola put on a Chiefs' player last year where he drove the crown of his helmet into the chin of a player waiting to field a punt? Or Julian Edelman's intentional jumping block to the head of a Cardinals' player in the season opener? Or last season Julian Edelman taking a running dive at the knees of TJ Ward of Denver?
If you're going to call out another team's players for taking cheap shots (for which Burfict should be at least suspended if not banned), then perhaps you should make sure your own team doesn't have a history of doing the same, including multiple current players who have taken both knee and head shots that were clearly intended to injure in the last two seasons.
