Ohio is an important swing state in the upcoming presidential election, and one of its most famous citizens encouraged Americans to vote for Hillary Clinton on Sunday.
Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James wrote an endorsement for the Democratic nominee at Business Insider as she stumps for votes against Republican nominee Donald Trump.
James pointed out coming back to Ohio was about more than bringing an NBA championship to the Cavaliers. Drawing on his experiences as a child, when "it was just my mom and me," James wrote Clinton is the best candidate to ensure the children of Akron, Ohio, have the proper support system in place for their future.
"Only one person running truly understands the struggles of an Akron child born into poverty," he wrote. "And when I think about the kinds of policies and ideas the kids in my foundation need from our government, the choice is clear."
