https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/how-arnold-palmer-the-man-created-arnold-palmer-the-drink-131137938.htmlArnold Palmer passed away Sunday, a pivotal and crushing moment for sports and several generations of golf fans. But for many more, Arnold Palmers name will live on as the perfect summertime drink: half lemonade, half iced tea.
The blend has been an Arnold Palmer for longer than most Americans have been alive. Its exact origins arent clear; apparently Palmer himself drank the concoction as a young man and throughout his reign atop the world of golf in the 1960s. Later in that decade, he was at a club in Palm Springs, Calif., working on a golf course design when he ordered the drink; a nearby patron overheard him, ordered that Arnold Palmer drink, and a legend was born.
This was in an era when Arnold Palmer could show up in public wearing a paper bag for a swimsuit and an entire nation would follow his lead. So Arnold Palmers instantly became a national phenomenon, and remain popular to this day. Palmer himself, always a savvy businessman, partnered with AriZona Beverage Company in 2001 to begin marketing the drink nationwide, and youll now find it on shelves everywhere....
He leaned over and said, Ill have a Mr. Palmer, the bartender said. Then he winked. There you go the consummate Arnold Palmer story.

'The Simpsons' premiere mentions Arnold Palmer on night of golf great's death
As if Arnold Palmer's life wasn't legendary enough. On the same night the iconic golfer died at the age of 87, Palmer was coincidentally mentioned numerous times on Sunday's season premiere of "The Simpsons."
While telling Marge of a prank he's planning, Homer explains to his wife he and friend Carl are going to "Arnold Palmer" Lenny by shooting him with water guns full of iced tea and lemonade. Marge doesn't understand, so Homer tells her, "Arnold Palmer was a golfer" who "made up this drink where it's not a full glass of lemonade or a full glass of iced tea."

didn't care for it. He did, though, make wine through Napa Valley Luna Vineyards. I had some of his Cab once and it was pretty good.
