Related: About this forumBrowns reportedly will start rookie Cody Kessler at QB, Josh McCown out
It looks like we can go ahead and add another name to the most depressing jersey in sports: The Browns' quarterback jersey.
According to ESPN.com, Cody Kessler will be the Browns starting quarterback on Sunday when Cleveland travels to Miami, which will make him the Browns' third different starting quarterback through just three weeks of the season.
It's been a rough two weeks for the Browns and their quarterbacks. The Week 1 starter, Robert Griffin III, was placed on injured reserve after spraining his shoulder in Cleveland's Week 1 loss to Philadelphia.
The injury to RG3 moved Josh McCown into the starting spot for Cleveland's Week 2 game against Baltimore. However, the injury bug hit again when McCown injured his shoulder in the 25-20 loss.

(31,173 posts)BEREA, Ohio -- Cody Kessler not only will be the Cleveland Browns' third starting quarterback in three games this season, he is the fifth in the last five games going back to last season.
That's right. When Kessler starts on Sunday in Miami, he will be the fifth different Browns starting quarterback in five games.
Johnny Manziel started in Kansas City and Austin Davis started against Pittsburgh in the 2015 season finale.
This season, Robert Griffin III started the opener and Josh McCown Game 2. Both injured their left shoulder, which puts Kessler on the field Sunday against Miami.

Only other team to start five different QBs in consective games were the 1986 and 1987 Falcons: Turk Schonert, David Archer, Scott Campbell, Erik Kramer and Jeff Van Raaphorst.

That infamous Cleveland Browns jersey with the names of 24 different starting quarterbacks will not see a 25th.
Inspired by the Cleveland Cavaliers' NBA championship, the owner of the iconic jersey is retiring it.
"It's a new day in Cleveland," Tim Brokaw of the advertising agency Brokaw, Inc., wrote in an email. "We want to be a part of that."
Brokaw is the jersey's creator and owner. He regularly displayed the jersey in the window of his agency, adding a new quarterback's name on duct tape as the list trailed to the ground. It had the names of all the Browns' 24 quarterback starters since 1999, but it doesn't anymore.
"Not exactly how we planned it," Brokaw said. "But after last night's historic performance, we realized all negative energy and bad juju should be eliminated from The Land." Brokaw, Inc., announced the "retirement" on its Twitter and Instagram pages Monday afternoon. With the announcement was a photo that had all the names of the quarterbacks eliminated.
"The dark cloud," Brokaw said, "has been lifted.
