How can people be so hateful?? Again if 2 gay people get married, does that mean my marriage is over?? Who cares who wants to get married?? If you love each other - shouldn't that be all it takes??

Oh and not a Rogers apologist by any means, but we can't pick who our family members are. It could be that Aaron doesn't believe this - could be he does. But just because his brother is an ill-informed moron, doesn't mean Aaron is.

Aaron is a big time Christian as well..it's the way he and his brother were raised. I'm sure the Tebow haters will be around here any minute to extend some of the vitriol they hurled at Tim and his faith over to the Rodgers family..

According to the Athletes In Action piece, Rodgers decided to “dedicate his life to living for Christ” when he was 16.

“[Church youth group leader] Matt Hock was the first person who showed me how much fun and how cool it can be to be a Christian,” Rodgers says. Through “Young Life” Rogers got involved in service mission projects and camp experiences, and built relationships that encouraged his and others’ Christian faith to grow. He went on to be involved with Athletes in Action during his two years at the University of California, Berkeley.

“I grew up knowing what a stable relationship was by my parents’ example and how it centered on Christ,” Rodgers says, “When our family had its ups and downs, I knew my parents relied on God for everything and He always got us through those rough spots.”

..snip

Now we can all admit he has not gone out and tebowed at any time that we know of. I'm sure this will make all of the Green Bay Pecker fans happy.

I deleted it because of the misunderstanding. In general, I'm tired of people misunderstanding me so the frustration of that caused me to do the drastic decision of completely deleting my post. Yes, I know it is my fault if people misunderstand me, but it doesn't help when the other side is making assumptions.

“I feel like my stance and my desire has always been to follow a quote from St. Francis of Assisi, who said, ‘Preach the gospel at all times. If necessary, use words.’ So basically, I’m not an over-the-top, or an in-your-face kind of guy with my faith. I would rather people have questions about why I act the way I act, whether they view it as positive or not, and ask questions, and then given an opportunity at some point, then you can talk about your faith a little bit. I firmly believe, just personally, what works for me, and what I enjoy doing is letting my actions speak about the kind of character that I want to have, and following that quote from St. Francis.”

Really? I was raised in an Italian Catholic family. Rejected the tenets over 40 years ago. Being raised "that way" and still having a bad attitude when an adult are mutually exclusive. They're big boys. They should do their own thinking.

If they are, then they think hurtful things and deserve any criticism they get.

living in the past -- what you know -- is very difficult to escape. Evolution is possible, but you have to want it. Many people learn this. Those who don't live in a very regrettable way of being, like Rodgers.

thing, and making public pronouncements on stuff (that isn't about football), that that isn't his thing. He acknowledged that he's a Christian, but prefers to keep it to himself.

That said, my father in law was the biggest jerk of a racist that I have ever seen. Do you think my husband was? I mean, he was raised by him.
