1. I saw a picture of the stadium the other day.

With the rink. I wouldn't pay to see that game. Way too far from the ice. Maybe with Jerry Jones' Jumbotron, but then, you might as well watch from a warm and cozy bar.

2. They tend to fill in areas around the rink with temporary seating.

There is nothing like watching hockey played outdoors. But then I was born in Wisconsin and raised there and in Michigan.

3. I'm fine with outdoor hockey.

The stadium is just too big. They do it at Fenway now for the colleges, but Fenway is about a third the capacity. As a one time event it will probably draw a crowd, though.

4. I think Comerica Park would have been better

It's a smaller park

5. The Wings wanted Comerica, I hear

but the NHL insisted - I think they basically want an attendance record.

6. Yep. They want to outdraw the Michigan-Michigan State hockey game and make a big spectacle.
