Cowboys officials will try to deter Jerry Jones from Johnny Manziel, the Kardashian of quarterbacks
Less than two years ago Cowboys officials convinced owner Jerry Jones it was not in the club's best interest to take Johnny Manziel.
Can they do it again?
This question burns bright now that Cleveland has declared it will sever ties with the Kardashian of quarterbacks. The Browns have said Manziel's "continual involvement in incidents that run counter'' to club expectations will be addressed when league rules permit, which in Cleveland's financial case is March 9.
You don't need to deploy a police helicopter to search for reasons to avoid Manziel. He's a backup who has shown more of a dedication to partying than his craft. He appears to crave celebrity over improvement . He enjoys the status of what it means to be an NFL quarterback but runs from the responsibility inherent in the position.

When the Cowboys, with the support of everyone in the room other than Jones, selected Zack Martin over Manziel in the first round of the 2014 draft, the owner leaned over and whispered into the ear of executive vice president Stephen Jones.
"Son, if you want to do special things in life, you can't keep picking and doing things down the middle,'' the elder Jones said. "What we just did was down the middle.''

It won't be long before Juvenile Johnny will join the likes of Greg Hardy and Joseph Randle.
