. . .but he was more valuable to his team than Arietta to the Cubs, or Cespedes to the Mets, or Molina to the Cardinals?

He may be the most oustanding player this year, but most valuable? I guess it depends on what valuable means.

Per your's, the term valuable means nothing. My definition depends upon how that player contributed to the success of the team.

And, i like Harper. Just don't think he should have been MVP. His team was a trainwreck.
