Vernon Davis traded by 49ers to Denver Broncos

Last edited Tue Nov 3, 2015, 04:09 AM - Edit history (1)

The Broncos have traded for the 49ers tight end, the team announced Monday afternoon. The teams will swap late-round picks in 2016 and San Francisco will receive the Broncos' sixth-round pick in 2017, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source involved.

&quot Davis will) be a valuable addition to our team with his experience and leadership," Broncos general manager John Elway wrote on Twitter.

Davis, 31, is a two-time Pro Bowler in the final year of his contract. His production has dropped off significantly in recent seasons, though it's difficult to discern if that is evidence of a decline or more a product of the decay at the quarterback position in San Francisco.

"He's a huge weapon for our offense," Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall told NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano on Monday's edition of Around The NFL. "The guy's a speed demon. He's a mismatch for linebackers and safeties, so he's going to help us out tremendously. ... I think he'll fit right in to the chemistry that we have, definitely."

No matter what a pain Harbaugh was---they should have given him the keys to the kingdom.

This is an great opportunity for the City of Oakland to design a "Hail Mary" deal to keep the Raiders. Hopefully they can pull off a miracle.

it was reported that the Raiders would not move, that a deal was struck with the Mayor of Oakland. Don't anyone expect to see the LOS ANGELES RAIDERS anytime soon.

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Raider Nation is now turning to Sacramento for tips on keeping the team from moving south.

At first glance, Sacramento State communications major Ray Perez looks like a typical college student. But one step into his garage, and his true colors come out—he’s better known as Oakland Raiders fan Dr. Death.

He’s now a regular at Oakland City Council meetings trying to stop the Raiders from moving to Los Angeles. He’s turning to Sacramento Kings fans to learn how to prevent a franchise from leaving.

The Oakland City Council is expected to view a new $900 million Raiders stadium financing plan this week.
