because of the players. I was hoping that Vinci would win, not sure why but I liked the way she played against Serena and that was probably really influential. It ended on a very positive note even though Pennetta is out now.

I was impressed with Djokovich last night when he explained that Cilic was playing on a bad ankle. I don't know, it seemed a real decent thing to say given what a blow out the match was.

I expect the men's final to be again, positive.

I much prefer tennis to be the focus and not antics that are mean spirited or bully behavior. I am so over that kind of action.

I see Venus won the Sportsmanship for the women this year. Perfect choice.

I hope to finish this out with a Federer win but I hope he does not decide to retire if he wins it! I am so not ready for that .

but thankfully Roger is stubbornly holding on for one more crack at the gold. If he could only win one more tournament as a pro in the open era that is the one I'd like to see him get. I couldn't bear watching after the third set last night.

Roger needed to be aggressive at all times, and for some reason he got tentative...I'm in agony...I don't think I can take another finals loss.

Talking about how good a friend Vinci is, and then Vinci saying "then this is for me?". Good stuff.
