(Reuters) - ESPN has removed Curt Schilling from coverage of the Little League World Series after the retired pitching star sent a tweet on Tuesday comparing the percentage of Muslims who are extremists to the percentage of Germans in 1940 who were Nazis.
The tweet had a picture of Adolf Hitler with the text: "It's said that only 5-10% of Muslims are extremists. In 1940, only 7% of Germans were Nazis. How'd that go?"
Schilling commented: "The math is staggering when you get to true #'s."
The tweet was up for about 10 minutes before being deleted.
ESPN said in a statement that the tweet "was completely unacceptable, and in no way represents our companys perspective."

(65,191 posts)Look, i loathe Schilling. First, i honestly believe he's a steroid cheat who never got caught. (fastball going faster over 30 years old? Slider faster and more break after 30 years old? Puh-leaze!)
Also, he's a hypocrite because he is a randian tool but held out his hand for small business loan protection for his gaming company, took that stipend, wept to the government over what he called anti-trust, then used bankruptcy protection despite the fact that he was still worth, personally, 2x what he owed.
But, i'm not sure that what he said was that horribly inflammatory.
He's comparing extremists to extremists.
I guess i'm just not grasping the outrage on this one. I could find a lot of things to hate him for, more than this issue.
