Rangers top Tigers, grab wild-card spot
Yovani Gallardo took a shutout into the seventh inning, and the Rangers spoiled Randy Wolf's return to the major leagues with a 5-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Saturday night.
Texas took the lead in the race for the AL's second wild card, moving a half-game ahead of the Los Angeles Angels.
The Rangers have won eight of their last 10.
