Add Jason Pierre-Paul to the Idiots Hall of Shame

http://nypost.com/2015/07/05/add-jason-pierre-paul-to-the-idiots-hall-of-shame/

The first and foremost concern, of course, is the true extent of the damage to his hand that Jason Pierre-Paul suffered on the Fourth of July. He has a life to live and the prime of a career ahead of him.

Thankfully, his fireworks accident isn’t life-threatening, or apparently career-threatening.

But where there is smoke there is fireworks, and a personal U-Haul loaded with fireworks and lighting them off leads you to believe this was risky behavior at best, and stupidity and mindlessness and selfishness at worst....

Now JPP, apparently celebrating the holiday in Miami and severely injuring his hand, his financial future and his teammates’ chances to return to the playoffs in 2015 with a reckless disregard for common sense and for his New York Football Giants organization.

Missed a Darwin Award by that much.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/bucs-cb-c-j--wilson-severely-injured-in-fireworks-accident-162949399.html

It turns out Jason Pierre-Paul wasn’t the only NFL player to suffer a fireworks-related injury over the holiday weekend.

According to the Tampa Tribune, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback C.J. Wilson suffered a “severe hand injury in a fireworks accident” during the July 4th weekend. The Lincoln (N.C.) Times-News reported, through sources close to the family, that Wilson lost two fingers in the incident.

"We are aware that C.J. was involved in an accident that occurred over the July 4th holiday," the Bucs said in a statement. "It is our understanding that the injury occurred to one of his hands and our primary concern at the moment is for his long-term health. We have been in contact with C.J. and are continuing to monitor the situation."

Wilson, 25, played in two games for the Bucs last season and registered four tackles. The N.C. State product also appeared in two games for the Chicago Bears in 2013 after signing with Chicago as an undrafted free agent.

Factoid: Ronnie Lott played DB for several years with an amputated pinky tip. He chose to have it amputated rather than miss playing time.

Lott switched to the safety position in 1985. He had the tip of his left pinky finger amputated after the 1985 season when it was crushed by tackling running back Timmy Newsome, and a bone graft surgery wouldn't have him ready in time for the 1986 season.

Though Bill Cosby and Jared Fogle and fellow NFL-er CJ Wilson could give him a run for his money...

NBC Sports.com: Per multiple league sources, Pierre-Paul specifically declined to see trainer Ronnie Barnes and former Giants linebacker Jessie Armstead...(T)hey traveled to Miami without first contacting Pierre-Paul or otherwise determining that Pierre-Paul would see them.

Listed as a “Special Assistant” on the team’s official website, Armstead has become a liaison between the organization and the players. He specifically has a strong relationship with Pierre-Paul.

The fact that the team sent Barnes with Armstead (and not coach Tom Coughlin or G.M. Jerry Reese) suggests that the trip primarily was aimed at learning more about the injuries Pierre-Paul suffered. From Pierre-Paul’s perspective, there’s currently no reason to cooperate with that effort...

Then I say fire his insubordinate ass -- kick it upstairs to Goddell's office and ban him from the league!

7. UPDATE: RIGHT INDEX FINGER AMPUTATED

New York Daily News: A bombshell report that completely blindsided the Giants organization (July 8) stated that Jason Pierre-Paul had his right index finger amputated Wednesday after a Fourth of July fireworks injury. The Giants defensive end reportedly had his finger amputated...in Miami on Saturday, but the Giants had “no idea” about the procedure until ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted about it...shar(ing) a photo of Pierre-Paul’s medical chart on Twitter...

Jackson Memorial Hospital cited HIPAA laws as to why Giants VP of medical services Ronnie Barnes could not see Pierre-Paul...(T)he information about Pierre-Paul’s condition may have been released by his camp; otherwise, issues of medical privacy and HIPAA Privacy Rule violations are at play...

TORO TURD -- Pierre-Paul is the reason why the Giants medical staff couldn't see Pierre-Pau!! The Giants owe him nothing as far as I'm concerned. In fact, I think his conduct is detrimental to the entire LEAGUE -- He should be given him the rest of the season off!
