Okay, now let's see if the men step up to the plate

or the penalty spot the way UConn men's hoops did after the women started winning titles. That snapped them out of a horrendous streak of annually choking in the second round.

Beating Germany in Cologne was a nice start. And Jurgen has three whole years to put it all together.

The Rox are 12 under but the Rangers are only 1 under. I think "we may have a contender here."

Although, it was nice to beat them on their soil for the 3rd time (I'm including WW1&2).

They also beat the Netherlands in Amsterdam a few days earlier, and they've owned Mexico for several years (dos a cero, anyone?)

They've made it out of their respective groups in the last 2 world cups, which was unimaginable only a few years ago. (In '94 they advanced as a 3rd place team in their group, and they were hosts, so I don't consider that as much of a surprise.)

And now JK seems to have the midas touch as coach. The future does indeed look bright.

BTW, the Gold Cup begins tomorrow night. Get pumped!
