Internet erupts after Tim Duncan announces decision to return for 19th Spurs season
The moment Spurs fans have been anxiously waiting to hear for months has finally come — living legend Tim Duncan will return for the 2015-2016 season.
No. 21 will turn 40 next year in a Spurs jersey, something he’s been sporting for nearly two decades.
The huge news wasn’t announced in a televised press conference or a featured ESPN article – instead it was nonchalantly transmitted via text message to San Antonio Express-News Spurs beat writer Mike Monroe, in true Duncan fashion.
“Straight from Tim Duncan: ‘I’ll be on the court next year,’” Monroe tweeted as the first source to the information.
