Lance Armstrong really doesn’t want to pay Dallas sports promoter that $10 million award

In October two members of a three-man arbitration panel ruled that Oak Cliff-born, Plano-raised Lance Armstrong must repay a Dallas-based sports promotions company $10 million in prize money he received for having won the Tour de France in 2002, 2003 and 2004. And the cyclist, who’s already spent two years contesting the claim, is refusing to pay up.

According to court documents filed in Dallas county this week, Armstrong and Tailwind Sports, which owned the U.S. Postal Service team for which Armstrong raced, are asking a judge to vacate the award, insisting it “effectively eviscerated a fully negotiated and binding settlement agreement” reached between Armstrong and SCA Promotions in 2006. And since Lance doped, shouldn't the guy give it back, or is he essentially double billing?

Since Lance actually won the tour zero times, then he doesn't get to keep the money. Obviously.
