Down at the half...last time they had a close one they ended up losing!

(72,790 posts)UConn kind of played poorly, and Dayton was on fire. Don't think Dayton will be able to keep up this pace.
And last time they had a close one, they lost, because they hardly ever have to play a close game. Not their fault, it's just that college women's basketball isn't very good.

(56,177 posts)Although I have to say Dayton is better than I thought...or UCONN thought, apparently...but they beat Kentucky and I forget who else, rather easily, so they did deserve the final 8.

(72,790 posts)They hit a lot of shots in the first half, and then tried to go inside too much in the second. Can't do that against the trees on UConn.

(56,177 posts)getting better, or simply a good run and then they'll fade away...seems like the cinderellas on the men's side usually have more than one good run so you start to recognize them.

(72,790 posts)even made the Sweet 16.
Why is it that women's college basketball is not that good? Is it the players? Is it the college coaches? Is it the high school coaches? Is it the AAU and youth league coaches?

(72,790 posts)There's only a handful of teams every year that can win the national title in college women's basketball.
It seems like all the HS All-Americans go to just a handful of the college teams, lately UConn, and it doesn't really make for an exciting tournament.
UConn blows out pretty much every team it faces. That's not fun at all to watch.
I think HS and AAU girls basketball is actually pretty exciting, and decent basketball, but the college game stinks, imo.

(65,168 posts)Dayton got schooled in the 2nd half. UCONN outscored them by 22. Don't poke the bee hive.
