OU football team walks out of practice to protest racist video

The Oklahoma football team, scheduled to practice Monday afternoon, instead briefly prayed, then left the field locked arm and arm. Earlier in the day, many Sooner athletes demonstrated against a racist video posted by a student group.

Earlier Monday, the fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon was kicked off campus after a video was posted showing some of its members chanting a song that used a racial slur and referenced lynching.

Oklahoma president David Boren said: “These people have acted in a way that’s absolutely reprehensible and disgraceful. Real Sooners are not bigots, racists.”
