Wow. Dortmund looked like a beaten horse at the top of the stretch and Firing Line looked like he was gonna waltz home. I have to say, Dortmund is one tough sonuvagun.

a couple of great Derby preps and California Chrome and Shared Belief squaring off in the San Antonio. Best day of racing in a while.

6. Saw that race between Shared Belief, and California Chrome....

and dang would have loved for the Chrome to win, but whew, that Shared Belief would have been a contender last year at the triple crown if not hurt, is that right?? Beautiful animal.

7. Shared Belief is a freak of nature...

Look for him next in the Santa Anita Handicap. California Chrome is heading to Dubai for the races.

3. I would have torn my ticket up....

I can't tell you how many times I've turned my back ripping up my ticket knowing the race was over.... I've been right about 100 percent of the time...I would have been wrong with this one.

4. I used to know an old horseplayer...

at my local track that would pickup every loose ticket on the floor. Told me he would get quite a few winners that people mistakenly tossed away.

5. I accidentally lost a ticket...250 bucks....

And picked through tickets on the ground until I found it.
